DRUMs
Trampus Bannister
Trampus grew up on the East Coast and in the Midwest, where his passion for music was ignited by James Singleton, now an accomplished bass player in New Orleans. Living in New Orleans exposed him to a vibrant music scene, where he could catch performances by legends like Miles Davis one day and the Grateful Dead the next, alongside classical greats like Stravinsky and Chopin. By age fourteen, he was hooked on music!
Trampus began his musical journey singing and playing percussion in various country and rock & roll bands. The allure of the West soon called to him, and he and his friends made their way to California, where musical opportunities flourished. It wasn’t long before he joined Loco Amor as their drummer, forging connections with bands like The Victims of Variety and the Space Heaters of Calaveras County—both enjoyable and interesting projects.
In the early 2000s, a friend invited him to join Swing Gitane, a collaboration that he cherishes to this day. Now, being part of The ElderBerries feels like a dream come true for Trampus. He has long admired the musical talents of Julie, Laura, Lillian, and Stan, and he often finds himself marveling at his good fortune. “Is this really happening?” he asks with a grin. “I better go work on my chops!” Join us in welcoming Trampus, a dynamic force behind the drums in The ElderBerries!
